Washington, D.C. – The Coalition for the American Dream (C4AD), which comprises more than 100 of the nation’s top businesses and trade associations representing every major sector of the economy and millions of U.S. workers, today released the following statement following oral arguments before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in the case against the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy:
&#8220;With today’s Fifth Circuit Court hearing on the latest challenge to DACA, the Coalition for the American Dream reaffirms our unwavering support for Dreamers. These individuals are vital to our economy, contributing nearly $42 billion annually to the GDP. <a href="https://www.coalitionfortheamericandream.us/daca-economics" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.coalitionfortheamericandream.us/daca-economics&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1728686143577000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1h7kKsJjz5FW5MBkwH66N5">Our findings</a> underscore the immense economic potential Dreamers hold for our nation’s future. We call on Congress to urgently pass a bipartisan solution that provides permanent protections and allows Dreamers to continue contributing to America’s success. Our businesses, communities, and economy depend on it.&#8221;

The Coalition for the American Dream, which is comprised of more than 100 of the nation’s top businesses and trade associations representing every major sector of the economy and millions of U.S. workers, released the following statement on the Biden administration&#8217;s announcement of Affirmative Relief for hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants:

“We applaud the steps announced by the president today. Streamlining the waiver process for DACA recipients to obtain nonimmigrant worker visas and allowing Dreamers who are married to U.S. citizens to apply for parole in place will provide more certainty for Dreamers who simply want to continue to build their lives in the only country they call &#8216;home.&#8217;
“For years, the Coalition for the American Dream has supported various legislative proposals that would have provided permanent solutions to the plight of Dreamers. Only Congress can provide a lasting solution for Dreamers; however, in the face of congressional inaction, we greatly appreciate the Administration’s willingness to provide additional certainty to these deserving friends, neighbors, family members, and colleagues who continue to support our economy, our communities, and our families.”
